The Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law Article 6) is New York State’s principal statute on providing for public access to government records.
The Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) Officer is responsible for ensuring appropriate agency response to public requests for access to records.
For more information about the FOIL and the Personal Privacy Protection Law, please visit the New York State Committee on Open Government's wesite.
How to Make a FOIL Request:
If you wish to access a record under FOIL, you must make your request in writing, which can be hand-delivered or sent via U.S. Mail, E-mail, or fax. Please be as specific as
possible in describing the records in which you are interested. Within five business days of the receipt of a written request, we will send a written acknowledgement that the request was
received. Please submit your inquiry to:

E-mail:nysfcb.state.ny.us

by appointment, at a location within the offices of the New York State Financial Control Board during normal business hours. Records may be copied at
a rate of $.25/page.
